Message from Father Regulo Imperial

Dear People of God:

Greetings of Peace!

It has been 7 weeks or 47 days to be exact, since we closed the door of the church for public worship. I know how we feel deeply sad about the situation. I can only console myself that this takes place for the good and safety of everyone. I pray that this will end soon.

I hope and pray that all of you are safe and healthy. I want you to know that, every day, I say my private Mass with you in mind and the intentions that are assigned for the day.

I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for your generous donations that you mail and drop in our mail box. Those donations are very much appreciated and help the church in its daily activity. Please continue supporting the church in this difficult time of the pandemic.

May God bless you and your families. May God be with you in this difficult journey.

On May 1st, each bishop in Canada and the United States of America will consecrate their diocese individually to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to seek her protection for all faithful from the continuing Covid-19 pandemic. Priests, deacons, members of St John Fisher Church, families and individuals are all encouraged to join their prayers in union with that of their bishop, in this Consecration.

In the Archdiocese of Toronto, Cardinal Collins will be praying the Consecration to Mary on May 1st, at the end of his 7:30 am livestreamed Mass, before the final blessing. All are invited to join Cardinal Collins in praying the Consecration to Mary at the same time, as they view his livestream, available at: www.stmichaelscathedral.com/live.  Alternatively, the prayer may be said at any other time of the day on May 1. (The Prayer is attached.)

Thank you very much and God bless!

Sacraments - First Communion and Confirmation

Image result for first communion and confirmation

Are your children in Grades 2 and 7 this year?

Are you looking forward to them receiving their First Holy Communion for Grade 2 students

and Confirmation for Grade 7 students?

Make sure to attend mass every weekend. All details will be communicated through our weekly bulletiin.

We are working on the details now and will be publishing them in the bulletin soon.

For now, please make sure that you have a physical copy of your child's Baptism Certificate. It is required for all Sacraments and you will need to provide that with the Registration Form.

If you have misplaced it, you will need to contact the church where your child was Baptized to get a replacement copy.

St John Fisher Novena

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Leader:   Our Father…Hail Mary…Glory Be

All: O God, who in martyrdom have brought true faith to its highest expression, graciously grant that, strengthened through the intercession of St John Fisher, we may confirm by the witness of our life, the faith we profess with our lips. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.

Leader: Pray for us, O Blessed St John Fisher.

All: That we may faithfully follow you on the hard road that leads to the narrow gate of eternal life.

Litany:

Lord, have mercy.               Lord, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy.             Christ, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy.               Lord, have mercy.

Christ, hear us.                     Christ, graciously hear us.

Response to each invocation: Pray for us.

In silence, let us mention our intentions…

Leader: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

All: Spare us, O Lord.

Leader: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

All: Graciously hear us, O Lord.

Leader: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world.

All: Have mercy on us.

Let us pray: O Glorious St John Fisher, Patron of our Parish, your life of prayer and penance and your zeal for justice, integrity and firm principle led you to the path of martyrdom and sainthood. Intercede for us, that we may be courageous and effective in our defence and promotion of sanctity of human life – the foundation of all other human rights. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
