St. John Fisher Charismatic Prayer Group

Let everything that has breath give praise to the Lord! (Psalm 150:6)

We gather together to praise, worship and thank God. We offer each other fellowship and support through prayer and testimony, singing and sharing the Word of God, and praying for the intentions of the needy.

We invite you to join us every Thursday from 7:10 to 9:15 p.m. in the Upper Room of the church hall.

Who we are:

We are the St. John Fisher Charismatic Prayer Group. Our group is charismatic because we have all received the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Our group was started by Bob and Rose DeMars in 1975 when Father Tipping was our pastor. The meetings were held in the Demars' house. As our members increased, we moved to the school  library for meeting space and when we were close to 300 members, we moved our meetings to the Church Hall. We gave Life in the Spirit Seminars, and held Healing Masses in our church.

When Father Grima became our Pastor in 1989, he revitalized our movement and gave us his full support. Reg & Shirley Digby led the group and our meetings moved to the upper room in the hall. We began organizing buses to attend the Life Jesus Higher Rally and other events. When requested, we give scripture readings, prayers of petitions and laying on of hands.

We are blessed to have had the opportunity of traveling to different parts of Canada for rallies and seminars.

Our Prayer Group continues today. We have a caring system which allows us to keep in touch with those we have not seen for some time.
