Easter Message from Fr. Regulo Imperial

To Our Beloved Parishioners:

Happy Easter to all! Do you know why Easter is the most important feast for us Christians? The Apostle Paul wrote: "If Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also in vain. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.” (1Cor 15:14-17)

Everything about Christian faith depends on the historical fact that Jesus died for our sins and was raised bodily on the third day. If Christ were not raised, Christianity would lose its very meaning; the whole mission of the Church would lose its impulse.

After the forty days of Lent we immerse fearless, enthusiastic and victorious to live our Christian life with a clear mission. The mission to proclaim to your families, friends, the parish community and beyond: that Jesus, love incarnate, died on the cross for our sins, but God the Father raised him and made him the Lord of life and death. In Jesus, love has triumphed over hatred, mercy over sinfulness, goodness over evil, truth over falsehood, life over death.

Every Easter is a fulfillment of the words of Prophet Isaiah: “I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" (Isaiah 43: 19) The resurrection always speaks about newness. So, the resurrection speaks the word of life to a world that would otherwise be defeated by death or tragedy or hardship. The resurrection speaks a joy-filled message for those who will welcome it in faith.

Dear parishioners, let’s show to everyone in the parish and our family that we have resurrected with Jesus on Easter Sunday. We are a new creation; leaving behind all soiled linens of our lives and putting on the white robe of Jesus’ resurrected body.

Though the Covid virus is still with us, let’s move on without fear to what ever will happen to us in the future. Jesus’ resurrection assures us that God is among us in everything human, name it, even death itself.

A special thanks to our parish choirs and musicians and our Grand Choir, the Communion Ministers and Lectors; Sacristans and Altar Servers, Ushers, Church Cleaners and those who offered their time and talents to making our worship space extremely beautiful for our solemn celebration.

Joy! Joy! Joy! Happy Easter!
